As we approach the halfway mark of the year, we've seen design trends manifest from minimalist to maximalist. How do you keep up with the times with your brand? We've put together a quick tutorial with a not-real* example brand to give you step-by-step instructions to create a style fit for your niche.

1

Who are you?

When creating a style for your brand, think of how you want to portray yourself. For instance, if you want to come off as a luxury brand, think of rich and luxurious colors and fonts. We challenge you to think of at least 3 words you would use to describe your brand.

2

Who is your target audience?

Who is your product or service targeting? Depending on the market, you'll want to choose colors and styles that create connections with your audience. For example, if you are a jeweler, you'll want to market towards women and couples.

3

What is your product or service?

This is the big one. Pick colors, textures, phrases, icons, feelings, and more that are commonly associated with your product or service. Think of a few colors, feelings, imagery, and more that you associate with your niche and run with it.

4

Do you have a slogan?

Come up with a slogan or phrase that gives a memorable first impression. Something catchy that is unique to your brand and will make your audience think of you and you only.

5

Put it all together!

This is the fun part. Put it all together! Allow yourself to test how your designs interact with your consumers. Try a few different designs out before you decide on one long-term. Once you pick one, you'll have to stick with it!
